Location: New York, NY – Hybrid (3 days onsite at 345 Park Avenue)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week

Job Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Software Engineer with strong Python, SQL, and AWS experience to join a technology team supporting a leading global investment firm.
The ideal candidate has 4–7+ years of software development experience, a strong engineering background, and experience building and deploying solutions within complex enterprise environments.
This role requires someone who can independently take technical requirements, design solutions, write production-ready code, and drive projects through completion. We are looking for a proactive, confident engineer who thrives in a collaborative but lean team environment and requires minimal oversight.
Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain software applications, APIs, services, and data pipelines using Python.

Write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries to support application functionality and data processing.

Develop and support solutions within AWS cloud environments.

Take ownership of engineering projects from initial requirements through development, testing, deployment, and production support.

Work within existing enterprise architecture and infrastructure to build scalable, reliable solutions.

Collaborate with quantitative, risk, and other technical teams to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.

Independently evaluate technical challenges, make design decisions, and implement appropriate solutions.

Troubleshoot application performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and maintain code quality.

Contribute to engineering initiatives in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Required Qualifications

4–7+ years of professional software engineering or development experience.

Strong, recent hands-on Python development experience.

Proficiency in SQL, including writing and optimizing complex queries.

Experience working with AWS cloud environments and navigating AWS services.

Experience developing applications, APIs, backend services, or production data pipelines.

Proven ability to build software solutions from scratch and take projects through production.

Experience working within large-scale enterprise technology environments and established architecture.

Strong understanding of software engineering principles, application design, testing, and deployment.

Ability to independently translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Strong problem-solving, technical decision-making, and communication skills.
- Must currently reside within commuting distance to NYC

Self-motivated, proactive approach with demonstrated ownership of engineering deliverables.
