Job Description:
Seeking an experienced Desktop Technician to support a leading financial services organization in a high-volume, onsite end-user support environment. This is a hands-on desktop support and break/fix role responsible for troubleshooting hardware, software, account, and access issues while providing timely support to employees.
The ideal candidate brings strong Windows desktop support experience, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work directly with end users in a fast-paced environment. This person should be comfortable managing a high volume of walk-up requests while delivering professional, customer-focused technical support.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on desktop support and break/fix assistance in a high-volume walk-up environment
- Install, configure, and support Windows desktops and laptops
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, desktop, and mobile device issues
- Set up and configure equipment for new users
- Support user email, account, VPN, and access-related issues
- Assist with desktop hardware and software lifecycle management
- Support software packaging, quality assurance, and deployment preparation
- Troubleshoot technical issues for both local and remote employees
- Document and resolve end-user support requests efficiently
- Provide occasional off-hours support as needed
Minimum Requirements:
- Associate's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field
- 5 years of desktop, deskside, or end-user support experience
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems
- Hands-on experience installing and configuring desktops and laptops
- Strong hardware and software troubleshooting experience
- Experience supporting and troubleshooting mobile devices
- Experience with user account, email, VPN, and access-related support
- Ability to provide hands-on technical support in a high-volume environment
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to independently prioritize and resolve multiple technical issues
- Ability to work onsite in Owings Mills, MD five days per week
- Must have access to a personal laptop for the engagement
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting users within a large enterprise environment
- Experience with high-volume walk-up or in-person technical support
- Experience with desktop imaging, deployment, and hardware refresh initiatives
- Familiarity with Active Directory, LDAP, VPN, and enterprise account management
- Experience supporting employees within financial services or another regulated industry
