Job Description:
Create compelling social media content by translating copy and business stories into strong visual concepts, selecting or creating the right imagery, and bringing ideas to life across social platforms.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Develop visual concepts for social media content based on copy, messaging, and campaign objectives.
- Identify and select strong imagery that effectively communicates the story or message.
- Art direct static social posts, graphics, reels, animation, and other visual content.
- Create and develop AI-generated imagery and provide clear creative direction for desired visuals.
- Develop multiple creative options and iterate based on client feedback.
- Create content for Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook across both paid and organic social.
- Stay current on social media trends and translate relevant trends into creative concepts.
- Partner closely with copywriters and creative team members to develop cohesive social content.
- Present visual concepts and creative options to internal teams and clients.
- Work through multiple rounds of feedback while maintaining strong creative judgment.
- Help bring complex products, ideas, and stories to life through compelling visual storytelling.
Requirements:
- Must-Haves:
- 4–6+ years of experience in content creation, art direction, graphic design, or a related creative role.
- Strong conceptual thinking and visual storytelling skills.
- Experience creating content specifically for social media.
- Strong understanding of Instagram and LinkedIn, with some Facebook experience.
- Ability to look at copy or a story and determine the appropriate visual concept to communicate it.
- Experience selecting and directing imagery for social content.
- Ability to develop multiple creative concepts and iterate based on feedback.
- Strong understanding of current social media trends and visual content styles.
- Comfortable working collaboratively with copywriters and creative teams.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain creative concepts.
- Ability to work effectively with clients who provide significant feedback and direction.
- Strong creative judgment and attention to detail.
- Nice-to-Haves:
- Agency experience.
- Experience creating AI-generated imagery or directing AI image creation.
- Experience with reels, animation, and short-form video.
- Experience creating paid and organic social content.
- Experience working with construction, utility, manufacturing, or other blue-collar audiences.
- Familiarity with tools such as Claude or other AI creative platforms.
