About the Opportunity
A major law firm is seeking a hands-on Financial Systems Engineer to support, maintain, and enhance its financial applications and reporting infrastructure.
This individual will play a key role in supporting Elite 3E, developing SQL-based solutions, building Power BI dashboards, and improving financial processes through automation and system integrations.
The ideal candidate brings a combination of technical expertise and financial systems knowledge, with the ability to independently troubleshoot issues, collaborate with Accounting and Finance stakeholders, and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
Key Responsibilities

Elite 3E Administration & Support: Maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance Elite 3E and related financial applications, ensuring system reliability, data integrity, and efficient operations.

SQL Development & Automation: Develop, maintain, and optimize SQL queries, jobs, and integrations to automate manual financial processes and improve operational efficiency.

Power BI & Reporting: Design and build Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions from scratch to support financial analysis, operational reporting, and business decision-making.

Financial Systems Support: Troubleshoot application errors, reporting discrepancies, database issues, and system integrations.

Month-End & Year-End Close: Support financial close activities, including resolving data issues and ensuring financial systems function accurately.

System Integrations: Support integrations across financial, timekeeping, collections, and other business applications.

Upgrades & Enhancements: Participate in financial system upgrades, testing, implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner directly with Accounting, Finance, IT teams, and external vendors to resolve issues and deliver technical solutions.

Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and improve system performance.
Required Qualifications

3+ years of experience supporting financial systems, including hands-on experience with Elite 3E.

Strong SQL development and troubleshooting skills, including experience with queries, stored procedures, jobs, and data integrations.

Experience developing Power BI dashboards and reports, ideally building reporting solutions from the ground up.

Understanding of accounting and financial operations, including month-end close and financial reporting processes.

Experience supporting, maintaining, and troubleshooting enterprise financial applications.

Ability to independently investigate and resolve complex technical and data-related issues.

Strong communication skills and experience working directly with business stakeholders.

Proactive, resourceful approach to problem-solving, including persistence in following up with stakeholders to drive resolution.

Ability to work remotely during Eastern or Central Time business hours.

Experience working in a law firm or professional services environment.

Experience with Intapp Open, Time, or Integration Builder.

Experience with SSRS and other financial reporting technologies.

Familiarity with BigHand BI, Forecasting & Budgeting, or Data Insights.

Experience with Emburse or other financial expense management applications.

Experience supporting Elite 3E upgrades, migrations, or implementations.

Experience with APIs, Azure-hosted applications, and financial systems integrations.
