Job Description:
Seeking an experienced Events AV Technician to provide hands-on audio-visual support for a high volume of live, in-person events across multiple locations in Washington, DC. This individual will support the setup, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and breakdown of AV technology for events ranging from conference-room meetings to large, high-profile programs with 100–200 attendees.
The ideal candidate has strong live-event AV experience, hands-on Crestron knowledge, and experience supporting live presenters, panels, executives, and other high-profile attendees. This is a highly visible role requiring someone who is technically strong, polished, reliable, and comfortable troubleshooting AV issues in real time during live events.
This position typically works afternoon/evening hours, approximately 3:00 PM–10:00/11:00 PM, with occasional weekend coverage required.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

Provide hands-on AV support for live events, meetings, conferences, panels, and presentations

Set up, test, operate, and break down AV equipment before and after events

Operate Crestron AV control systems and integrated AV environments

Operate AV control booths during live events
-
Support projection screens, displays, presentations, screen sharing, and other visual content

Set up and troubleshoot podium, handheld, and lavalier microphones
-
Support multi-microphone configurations for panels and large events
-
Monitor and adjust live audio, presentation content, and AV systems throughout events
-
Troubleshoot display, audio, signal routing, control system, and other AV issues in real time

Support live presenters, panelists, executives, and other high-profile event attendees
-
Assist with AV-over-IP and network-connected AV environments
-
Coordinate with event organizers and internal technical teams to ensure successful event execution

Travel between local Washington, DC facilities as needed
Minimum Requirements:

3–5 years of hands-on audio-visual or live-event technology experience

Strong experience providing technical AV support for live, in-person events
-
Hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting Crestron AV control systems

Experience operating integrated AV systems and AV control booths
-
Experience supporting live audio and projection systems
-
Experience setting up and troubleshooting podium, handheld, and lavalier microphones
-
Experience supporting multiple microphones and presenters during panels or large events
-
Strong troubleshooting experience with displays, projection, audio, signal routing, and AV control systems
-
Experience directly supporting live presenters and high-profile event attendees
-
Highly professional, polished, reliable, and comfortable working in client-facing environments

Ability to work afternoon/evening hours, typically 3:00 PM–10:00/11:00 PM

Ability to provide occasional weekend event coverage

Reliable transportation and ability to travel between Washington, DC locations

AVIXA CTS, Crestron, Extron, or related AV certifications
