About the Opportunity
One of our clients in the sports mediaspace is seeking a talented, creative, and detail-oriented Graphic Designer to support design initiatives for the Washington Capitals. This is a remote, part-time contract opportunity ideal for a designer with experience in sports, entertainment, live events, or consumer-facing brands.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on designer who can develop engaging visual concepts, execute high-quality creative assets, and quickly adapt designs across multiple platforms. This individual must thrive in a fast-paced environment, balance planned creative projects with time-sensitive requests, and maintain brand consistency across all deliverables.
Key Responsibilities

Design compelling creative assets for Washington Capitals campaigns, promotions, game days, and ongoing marketing initiatives.

Translate creative briefs into polished, visually engaging designs that align with established brand guidelines.

Create and adapt artwork across multiple formats, including digital, social media, web, television, print, and in-venue displays.

Maintain visual consistency across different sizes, dimensions, and placements.

Support live game-day creative needs, including last-minute updates, player changes, and time-sensitive promotional materials.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders through Microsoft Teams to review creative concepts, incorporate feedback, and finalize deliverables.

Execute hands-on production design tasks, including resizing, updating, and modifying existing creative assets.

Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines and maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
Required Qualifications

Strong professional graphic design experience, preferably within sports, entertainment, live events, concerts, or direct-to-consumer brands.

Portfolio demonstrating high-quality creative work across multiple platforms and formats.

Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.

Excellent understanding of typography, layout, composition, color, and visual storytelling.

Proven ability to create original concepts while working within established brand guidelines.

Experience adapting and producing creative assets for digital, social, print, television, and large-format displays.

Ability to execute quick, accurate design revisions in response to real-time changes or urgent requests.

Comfortable balancing conceptual design work with day-to-day production responsibilities.

Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.

Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating with team members through Microsoft Teams.
Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience designing for professional sports teams, entertainment organizations, or live events.

Illustration skills and the ability to incorporate custom illustrations into creative campaigns.

Experience supporting live sporting events or other fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
Schedule & Availability
This position requires approximately 15–20 hours per week, with flexibility to support scheduled game days, including occasional evenings and weekends.
